Peavey is both a brand and type of logging tool.  The peavey hooks we sell are made by Peavey Manufacturing and are the most popular style used today.  It’s basically a cant hook or cant dog with a long metal spike on the end.  The peavey’s spike can be used to ram into a log while the handle provides leverage to help move it.  The handle lengths for our standard peavey range from 30”-66”.
