Axes and Adzes

What’s the difference between an ax and an adze? While both are cutting tools with sharp edges used for shaping, smoothing, or cutting wood, an ax's blade is in the same plane as the tool’s handle whereas the plane of an adze blade is at a right angle. Both axes and adzes play an essential role in log building projects. We are proud to offer Two Cherries straight and curved adzes as well as Peavey and Prandi axes.
